In the abysmal conditions of Eastern Montana, a long day of hiking had finally come to an end. But the real lesson began once we hit the gravel road back to camp. When a deer appeared just 75 yards off the road on state land, the "cockpit scramble" began: dragging the rifle over the center console, fumbling for a magazine, and struggling to exit the vehicle to make it to a safe shooting location. By the time a round was chambered, the deer was gone.

That moment of frustration led to a single question: Why isn't there a way to transport a rifle safely that allows for immediate, unobstructed access?

Ready to Shoulder was born from that necessity. What started in 2022 as a rudimentary wood and PVC prototype has evolved.

We paired a hunter’s frustration with an engineer’s precision. By combining boots-on-the-ground experience with high-end mechanical design, we’ve built a tool that handles the abuse of the trail without missing a beat.

Today, the Sidekick door-mounted rack is PNW-built to ensure that when your moment arrives, you’re ready to shoulder—not fumbling with your cab.
